Nigeria's upstream petroleum sector produced a cumulative 3.67 billion barrels of oil and condensate between January 2020 and May 2026, with 14.16 trillion MMscf of gas recorded from 2021 onwards. Output peaked in 2020 at 671 million barrels and declined 17.7% by 2025. Gas commercialization improved from 90.3% to 92.7% while the flare rate fell from 9.2% to 6.8%.
